Special Government Relations Alert

Take Action

House Bill 329 - would prohibit the application of fertilizers containing phosphorous.

The bill would have prohibited the application of fertilizers containing phosphorous on lawns, golf courses, parks, and cemeteries, and the application to frozen or impervious grounds.

Thanks to the efforts of our constituents, as well as our colleagues with the Virginia Agribusiness Council, this bill has been continued to 2011.

Senate Bill 582 - The bill would require that all specialty fertilizers have a label containing product information and directions for proper use.  This bill was also continued to 2011.

Senate Bill 583 - The bill would prohibit the broad application of pesticides and fertilizers on impervious surfaces like driveways or streets.  This bill was stricken.
