Virginias Communications
The Virginias Chapter publishes a quarterly newsletter along with Chapter updates and reminders. The Chapter also produces an Annual Report. Other supplemental publications include the golf tournament brochure, the sponsorship guide, membership brochure, education calendar, table top promotions, and signage. Given the geographic range of our chapter covering areas in two states, and the busy schedules of our managers, Chapter leadership utilizes technology to efficiently handle chapter business and planning. The chapter seeks presenters who engage the audience and are relevant. The Board holds an annual planning conference to set goals and plans for the year. The Board and Management devote time and service to the Chapter to give its membership the best value and experience.

Virginias CMAA supports and gives back
The Virginias Chapter holds an annual Golf Tournament that allows us to give back to our communities, our clubs and our individual professional development. Proceeds from this event provide support for our Student Chapters, as well as the Host Club's Charity of Choice. Proceeds also ensure top level educational offerings, scholarship programs for students and Chapter members, and sustain the Chapter. This tournament is special in that it serves as a recruitment tool for managers to invite potential new members (CMAA members and Vendors alike) to participate and introduce them to the Chapter. A showcase for the Chapter and CMAA! We raffle a complete patio furniture set from Tropitone Furniture. A $3,000 value. A few unique service touches are added to the event each year. Auto detailing services were offered during the tournament for all vehicle types. Participants were able to make advanced reservations for this service. Outside Food Trucks are often utilized to enhance the tournament experience. We are also unique in that we accommodate junior players in our tournament and often utilize two golf courses.
Student Chapter Support of CMAA
The Virginias Chapter is proud to be a contributor to James Madison University and Virginia Tech’s CMAA student chapters. Over the years, JMU and VT have been the recipients of $103,000 in monetary support. We believe in the investing in our future industry leaders.
Virginias CMAA gives back
The Virginias Chapter organizes multiple dates during the month of August to allow members to volunteer with the Salvation Army and their Community Meals Initiative. The Chapter comes together and pulls up our sleeves and serves meals for the homeless. We serve over 235 homeless annually along with donations of toiletry and snack bags. It is not uncommon for our vendor partners to volunteer side by side with managers.
